Amanda Burden joins Cheri Hill in the studio today, to talk about her magazine, Edible Reno-Tahoe. Amanda is the Editor and Publisher of the magazine, which has been running since 2010. Edible Reno-Tahoe is published six times a year, and covers all kinds of local food in Nevada. Throughout the year, special issues are published that are highlight issues, featuring specifically drinks and chefs.
Amanda has watched as local food and farming has spread throughout Nevada over the years, which she thinks is caused by people wanting to know more about where there food comes from. So many people now have gardens and grow their own produce. Or more recently on a larger scale, a local chicken farm that is able to ship out meat to restaurants.
You can pick up any issue of Edible Reno-Tahoe, and discover a number of local growers, restaurants, and even recipes for a healthier lifestyle.
